Started in 1956, Madras Management Association (MMA) had the sole objective of enhancing the standards
of management education and training in India to rival the best in the world. Having charted a long way in the last five decades, we are now the largest affiliate of the prestigious "All India Management Association" (AIMA)
with a membership database of 8000 followers. It comes
as no surprise that MMA sets the standards to inspire other Local Management Associations (LMA) and has won the AIMA best LMA award a staggering eight times.
MMA is registered under the Societies Act XXI of 1860
as a non profit organization in the city of Chennai.
2011 - 2012 was marked by achievements, innovations
and a consolidated approach to focus on growth, success and excellence. We strive to outdo ourselves with each passing year, in turn setting new benchmarks for the scopic regime of Management in the country.

today MMA is a name to reckon with when
it comes to Management Expertise in India.
The Name: Founded as the The Madras Institute of Management (MIM) in August 1956 under the meritorious president Dr. A. Lakshmanaswamy Mudaliar, the illustrious Vice-Chancellor
of Madras University, MIM was formally inaugurated with twenty institutional members on September 19, 1956.
On becoming a part of AIMA, in 1957 the name MIM was changed to MMA and has been the same ever since.

The Memorandum & Rules of Association (M&RA), amended on 25 June 1999, is the basic document containing the Memorandum of Registration of the Association with the Registrar of Societies and the Rules governing the Classes

Privileges of Members, Cessation of Membership, Managing Committee, Vacancy - Cessation of Membership, Office Bearers, Powers & Duties of Managing Committee,
Powers & Duties of Office-Bearers, Managing Committee Meeting, Finance, Audit, General Meetings,

Join the club of Managerial Excellence
MMA has built its repute based on the pillars of knowledge and expertise conveyed through
a faculty that consists of eminent names who have left an indelible mark in their respective fields. On becoming a part of this esteemed institution you get to mingle and learn from a community
of scholars who are driven by a singular passion of taking Management to the next level.
To give you an insight into the kind of profiles that are members of MMA we chose the word "myriad".
Corporate houses, public sector undertakings, small and medium enterprises, educational institutions, non-profit societies as well as corporate executives, government officials, academic scholars, professionals, consultants and management students' phew, quite a handful
aren,t they? But cutting across classes is what makes MMA the true managerial experts.
Membership Categories
Tailormade courses for every need
MMA has four classes of membership open for admission. These are:
Institutional Members
(a) Any firm, corporation, Government, enterprise, or other institution interested
in the development and progress of professional management shall be eligible
to be an institutional member.
(b) Any firm or corporation, which is subsidiary to or in the Managing Agency or control
of another firm or corporation, shall not be entitled to benefits of membership by virtue
of the fact that its parent or controlling firm or corporation or managing agent is a member
of the association in its own right.
(c) At the annual general meeting of the association each institutional member will have two votes.
Individual Members
(a) Any person engaged in management in any industry business or government enterprises or engaged on teaching management
subjects in institutions shall be eligible to be an individual member of the association, subject to the approval of the committee.
(b) At the annual general meeting of the association each individual member will have one vote..
Association Members
Chambers of commerce and educational institutions which are non-profit making in nature and department of universities or of educational affiliated to university which impart training in management skills.
They shall however have no voting rights and shall not be eligible to be elected to the managing committee.
Student Members
Anyone over 18 years of age enrolled as students in an institution teaching management subjects or of the AIMA for its Diploma examination
or of management association/institution for its professional examinations shall be eligible for student membership. Application for student membership shall be sponsored by the Head of the Association/Institution in which the candidate has enrolled himself/herself as a student.
No such member shall remain student member after reaching the age of 28 years except those who are pursuing the AIMA diploma in management.
They Shall, however, have no voting rights and shall not be eligible to be elected to the managing committee.
In addition to the above classes of members, Professional Individual Members of the All India Management Association will automatically
become members of the MMA. They shall enjoy all the privileges extended to the Individual Members of MMA.

Fellowship: Being part of a fraternity of over 8000 members, who are involved in the quest for improving their individual and organisation's managerial performance.
